— The Dragon of the East[src] |
Ao Guang, better known as the Dragon of the East, is a member of the Dragon Clan and the original owner of the Golden Staff before it was taken by the Monkey King.
History[]
Past[]
At some point in time, Monkey King traveled to the Dragon Palace of the East Sea and tricked Ao Guang as he stole the Golden Staff from him. The Dragon of the East considered the theft of the Golden Staff as an act of humiliation upon himself and considered Monkey King untrustworthy since then.
Great Grand Dragon of the East[]
The Monkey King tried to greet the Dragon of the East. However, the Dragon of the East was incensed by Monkey King's return, as he was still angry about Monkey King stealing the Golden Staff from him. Monkey King attempted to explain the misunderstanding regarding the staff, but the Dragon of the East was already aware that it had been lost. He accused Monkey King of providing Lady Bone Demon with the means to end them all and threatened to execute him. The Monkey King endeavored to establish his identity. Nevertheless, his assertion was met with resistance as the Dragon of the East used his Dracokinesis to repel him. The Dragon of the East then ordered the the palace guards execute Monkey King and the Monkie Kids. As Mei brought the Dragon Blade, the Dragon of the East withdrew the order. He recognized the weapon belonging to the Dragon of the West, realizing that he and Mei were related. MK reminded the Dragon of the East of Lady Bone Demon as he held the Map to the Rings of Samadhi. The Dragon of the East took the map and accused MK of freeing Lady Bone Demon in the first place. He then ordered Mei to be taken to the palace and the others to be imprisoned.
Mei entered the Treasure Room to steal the Map to the Rings of Samadhi back, but the Dragon of the East appeared before her and warned her against coming uninvited to someone's domain. Mei attempted to explain herself to the Dragon of the East, but the latter accused her of stealing on behalf of Monkey King. As Mei emphasized the importance of finding the Samdhi Fire to stop Lady Bone Demon, the Dragon of the East dismissed her efforts, claiming that the demon was too powerful. Mei mentioned the Monkey King's plan, but the dragon refused to trust him. Despite his objections, Mei took the map. The Dragon of the East tried to stop Mei by grabbing her arm, revealing a vision of the Samadhi Fire. He stepped back in disbelief as Mei ran off to find her friends.
As the team attempted to escape from the Dragon Palace, they were confronted with a stern warning from the Dragon of the East. Despite Monkey King's efforts to reason with him, the Dragon of the East refused to allow them to leave with the map. The Dragon of the East believed that the Samadhi Fire was too hazardous to control, but the team knew it was their only chance against Lady Bone Demon. Suddenly, Macaque appeared, and the Dragon of the East offered to hold him off, allowing the others to escape. Mei was grateful for her distant uncle's sacrifice, and he responded with a smile. The Dragon of the East then engaged in an explosive battle with Macaque, the Smoke Monster, and the Shadow Monkeys.
Personality[]
Ao Guang is a strict and serious person who strongly values his family's traditions and does approve of Mei's trust in the Monkey King. Although he may not be very expressive in showing his affection, Ao Guang genuinely loves and cares for his clan, and he is willing to go to great lengths to ensure their safety. This was evident when he distracted Macaque by fighting him, allowing the Monkie Kids time to escape.
